This dramatic 8,000 square foot home is defined by its unique angles, use of raw materials, and hillside location. These attributes also contributed to its design challenges which were resolved by incorporating lateral support systems including steel cantilevered columns, steel braced frame tower systems, concrete shear walls, and plywood shear walls. The three building wings are supported on a drilled pier and grade beam system, designed to resist hillside creep forces.
